UDITE CONGRESS TAKING SHAPE!

Last updated: 05 Jul 2021
Arrangements for next UDITE congress are progressing now that the French syndicate, SNDGCT has confirmed the rescheduled date in Metz at the Robert Schuman Congress Centre from 14th to 16th October 2021.

The UDITE congress will take place on 15th and 16th October following the French Congress. UDITE members will be invited to participate physically or virtually depending on the sanitary rules in place at the time. In terms of content, the role of the DG in charting the local authority’s path through the recovery from the pandemic is likely to loom large at the congress. On the eve of the UDITE presidency transferring from Malta to France, participants will hear from a range of experts about action that can be taken to minimise the impact of increasing expenditure and falling revenues whilst optimising the range of recovery measures available for EU and national institutions to deliver public investment stimulus and direct support to the economy of the territories. The latest surveys indicate the top three priorities are ensuring affordable, accessible, and quality basic services, including health, across all territories (76%); increasing regional resilience (69%); and reducing the digital divide across regions (68%). The UDITE Executive committee will discuss the emerging agenda for the Congress with SNDGCT colleagues. UDITE will present its Presidency review publication at the Congress for 2018-2021.
