EUROPEAN WEEK OF REGIONS AND CITIES 2021 LAUNCHED

The 19th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will take place from 11th to 14th October 2021. As in 2020, EWRC will be a digital event.

The 19th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will take place from 11th to 14th October 2021. As in 2020, EWRC will be a digital event. The launch event took place on 19th January for all organisations interested in being associated with the week this year.  Preparations are underway between UDITE and VEOLIA (our business partner) to play a prominent role in this year’s event.  Under the slogan “Together for recovery”, the #EURegionsWeek 2021 will be centred on four topics:

  • Green Transition: for a sustainable and green recovery

  • Cohesion: from emergency to resilience

  • Digital Transition: for people

  • Citizens' engagement: for an inclusive, participative and fair recovery

With the deadline for applications set for the end of March, bids for events will need to be aligned with the above priorities. The conditions for participation have become stricter and competition for places will be tough.  Bids will be scored for their communication standards, environmental impact, gender balance, etc.  What is particularly important is that on 20th September at least 50 participants will need to be registered or otherwise events face being struck off from the final programme. Therefore, please note the dates for the European Week of Regions and Cities from 11th to 14th October 2021. Participant registration opens in late July 2021.  If you have suggestions for workshop themes please get in touch with Simon (simon@udite.eu)
