UDiTE ADDRESSES HIGH LEVEL SYMPOSIUM ON PUBLIC PROCUREMENT IN EUROPE

Last updated: 26 Jul 2022
Stéphane Pintre, UDITE’s President, intervened via video link during a high-level conference held on 28th June 2022 on public procurement and public purchasing in Europe, organised by UGAP with Bordeaux and the City Council as well as the Department of Gironde and the Gironde CCI.

The event confirmed the relevance of a European-level approach to the subject of public procurement, despite differences in local implementing legislation and the administrative constraints inherent in responding to a market outside one's country of origin. Here again, the essential elements to be shared are the understanding of the European directives which affect public procurement, ECJ case law affecting its interpretation, the best practices of the territories to meet the various challenges and, ultimately, the constitution of a purchasing strategy which reveals the best of each actor in the public procurement ecosystem. A future UDiTE partnership with UGAP will be considered with all the more interest in the months to come and follow up contacts have been made in this regard.
