Last updated: 02 Oct 2024
'Resilience and Connections in a Transforming World' will be the overarching banner for TERRITORIALIS 2024 that is due to be hosted in the beautiful city of Tours in the Loire Valley on 3rd and 4th October 2024. UDiTE members are invited to join their French peers to share their experiences.

Our French member association Syndicat National des Directeurs Généraux des Collectivités Territoriales (The French local authority chief executives association) is in its final 10 days before hosting its annual event TERRITORIALIS 2024 which this year will be hosted in the Palais des Congrès in the beautiful city of Tours in the Loire Valley on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th October 2024. TERRITORIALIS has become a valuable forum in which to discuss the issues facing local government. UDiTE members are invited to join their French peers to share their experiences? This year's overarching theme will be 'Resilience and Connections in a Transforming World’ and will look not only at the impacts of AI, but also from technological, strategic, human and governance-related angles of the digital world within which our services are provided.  The challenges of understanding these new technologies, the new uses to be imagined and integrated into our professional organisations, the challenges of security and ethics in day-to-day practice.  And how to appropriate these new digital opportunities and their considerable effects on our territories and our organisations, while putting them at the service of the fundamental element of all effective management: people! In a world of continuous transformation, local and regional managers need to combine emerging tools and human skills to create an efficient, harmonious environment, and thus build resilient, inclusive communities. Territorialis is also a time for gathering and exchanging ideas among peers, which is essential this year given the current state of affairs for local authorities in France.  Delegates will discover the latest innovations that are transforming local action. The programme includes a 2 packed days with 3 plenary conferences, 15 thematic workshops, 70 exhibitors and the talent village. Work shop themes include:- Connected/disconnected leaders: How to stay in touch with people? CEO burnout: let's take care of ourselves! Do we still need a leader? and Facing up to shocks: embracing change, managing talent.  UDiTE member delegations from Malta, Spain, Belgium and Romania will participate in Tours.
