THREE YEAR COMPARATIVE STUDY ON the social protection AND WELLBEING OF local and regional government employees in Europe

On the 27th April 2022, Stephane Pintre, UDiTE President and Didier Bée, Director General of the MNT, a leading mutual insurance provider for local authority workers in France, signed a partnership agreement covering a three-year study on the social protection and the wellbeing of local and regional government employees in Europe. The study will be published in 2024.

1. Topics to be covered

The study will look at ways in which local government across Europe take into account the issues of work place health and the well being in the broadest sense of our workforce. The systems to be studied and compared may belong to very different social and administrative realities in the different European countries. Nevertheless, the study aims to provide a broad range of exemplar approaches so that the work can be of value throughout the UDiTE network.

2. What resources will be deployed for the study

UDiTE and MNT will pilot the study by participating in the work. A more expert part of the study will be drafted by MNT with the support of Europa (a think tank in France).  Other partners, including the Observatoire Social Territorial  may be called upon during the study for their expert input. The material for analysis will be collected in the first instance by means of  questionnaires from all countries participating in the study.

3. Expected deliverables

The main outcome from the work will be a comparative study between the different partner countries. However, and in view of the elements provided and the evolution of the project, other countries may be consulted and integrated into the study. The finished study will present the results of the analysis of the observations. This will be accompanied by a summaries in digital format that will be added to the UDiTE website.
