French government guidance on the treatment of paid holidays and other contractual issues during the COVID-19 crisis. The French local government CEOs federation (SNDGCT) is already working on a series of key principles in an effort to unite the responses of local authorities from across France that have been emerging during this unprecedented period of crisis regarding the organisation of work and other HR issues in this period of confinement.

Whilst the immediate aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis was spent dealing with emergencies including the setting up of new services and the priority of protecting key workers, attention is turning to more longer-term questions on human resource management. Consideration is starting to be given to the medium-term impacts of this new operation between telework, on-site work and eventually preparing for a return to normal activity.

In anticipation of several Government texts in the coming days, on local government HR topics including paid holidays, the SNDGCT points out the elements that should n’t be neglected and is working up its recommendations.
