Quality of life & prosperity are vital to our cities & regions. Water is a resource of fundamental economic value. Innovation, behavioural change & circularity schemes that drive water resilience & help communities to thrive will be showcased.

The quality of life & economic prosperity of our citizens are vital to our cities & regions. Local authority CEOs, represented by UDITE, lead their local administrations at a time of great change. With uncertainty stemming from conflicts on Europe’s borders, climate change & the challenges of recovering from the recent pandemic, it is at the local level where the impacts of these threats occur. Water basin management is a major priority for cities & regions, industries, and citizens. Water is a resource of fundamental economic value and without water, there is no local economy! A series of innovative case studies will illustrate how innovation, behavioural change & circularity schemes at water basin management level are helping communities to become more water resilient & thrive. Speakers will come from the public and private sectors and the event will focus on the added value of community and bottom-up initiatives that are vital to the future quality of life and prosperity of our cities and regions.  The event will target policymakers from across the EU, representatives of local authorities and regions, water providers, consumer associations and representatives of civil society with a view to underlining the economic value of water and its importance to all of our cities & regions if they are to continue to thrive. The event will be professionally moderated & will give participants unique insights into successful replicable case studies. Our speakers will include local authority chief executive’s, representatives of EU projects, EU institutions the private sector who can speak knowledgeably about their innovative experiences. A representative from the EU Committee of the Regions will be invited to speak on the topic too ahead of their committee opinion on the topic of water resilience. The event will use inspiring audio-visual aids to give participants a rapid and clear understanding of the achievements of the different case studies.
