Two studies and a manifesto have been launched at the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) general assembly in Malmo.
The manifesto for the European elections, launched today (April 24), is aimed at local and regional governments as well as the European Parliament. On launching the manifesto CEMR stated it consisted of a list of key issues for local and regional authorities, ranging from public services to the economic crisis.
The studies launched at the general assembly focus on economy and structure. The first will assess the impact of the economic crisis on local and regional authorities and the second gives an overall view of the current situation in local and regional structures across Europe.
