2009 eGovernment Awards Launched

The European Commission has called on local and regional government to submit entries to the European eGovernment Awards 2009.

The aim of the awards is to promote the exchange of good practices and to show how electronic and web technologies can improve service delivery to citizens and businesses across Europe. 

The finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of independent experts and by participating have a chance to win a prestigious award, exhibit at a high-level ministerial eGovernment conference, draw attention to their achievements in their use of ICT in their home town, region or country and network with other stakeholders and have their case and experience highlighted on the epractice.eu portal.

Applications can be submitted until June 10, the awards ceremony will take place in Malmo at the European ministerial eGovernment conference, Teaming up for the E.union being held on November 18-19.
