€65M Available for Energy Projects
2009. 05. 12. 0:00:00
Public and private sector bodies have been urged to apply for funding under the Intelligent Energy-Europe (IEE) Programme.
The funding pot, worth €65 million, is to assist with up to 75% of the cost of eligible projects, which will help achieve the European Union's ambitious targets for 2020 of 20% less greenhouse gas emissions, 20% better energy efficiency, and 20% share of renewables.
Projects which foster energy efficiency, promote new and renewable energy sources and promote sustainable mobility schemes are likely to appeal to the IEE.
The IEE Programme is run by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI) on behalf of the European Commission. Any private or public organisation established in the EU can apply to the funding programme with projects that are expected to run for two to three years and which involve at least three partners from three countries.
Chosen projects will be expected to act as catalysts triggering similar projects elsewhere, so it is important projects can be transferred to other countries.
The deadline for applications is June 25. For more information click here.
