The European Union has announced a funding boost of €164.1 million which will be used to support the cooperation between public administrations from EU-27 member states.
One of the main objectives of the funding, which is being provided by the Interoperability Solutions for European public administrations (ISA) programme, is to help local and regional government develop the use of new communication technologies.
ISA is one of a series of programmes set up by the EU 10 years ago, which aims to facilitate online administrative procedures that can vary significantly from country to country, and which are available to citizens and the business sector.
