UDiTE IS A PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING ORGANISATION FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHIEF EXECUTIVES ACROSS EUROPE
With around 15,000 members and working as the umbrella organisation across 15 EU countries, UDiTE links with its members' Local Government National Associations to promote constructive relations between Chief Executives and senior managers.
UDiTE aims to develop exchanges of information and expertise, to enhance the role and functions of local authorities, and to contribute to the European Union.

CoR votes on political priorities and starts debate on key issues with Commissioners Hahn, Füle and Cioloş
Following the European Commission's adoption of its 2010 work programme, CoR members will meet during the plenary session to select their priorities for the year. Under the new EU set-up established by the Lisbon Treaty, they will be involved in discussions on policies with a strong local impact (such as the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy and cohesion policy), as well as contributing to the EU's future guidelines, particularly in the economic and environmental spheres.

Local and regional authorities unite
As a result of an October 2008 European Commission communication; local and regional authorities from both the EU and developing countries will come together for the first annual Assises of Decentralised Co-operation.

UDiTE Awards 2009
The annual UDiTE ‘Knowledge Sharing’ Awards Event was successfully launched in Brussels on Monday 5 October.
The event attracted an internationally diverse crowd including European chief executives, senior managers, university students, local authorities, councillors and police officers, all of whom were there to recognise the local government projects from across the EU.
